The team’s achievement marks the lowest score on a par-71 course in MVC Championship history, surpassing their own previous records. This result places them in a strong position for the final day of competition and highlights their consistent improvement throughout the season.
Bautista led with a career-best round of 65, bringing his two-round total to 132—five strokes ahead of any other competitor. His performance is tied for the second-lowest single-round score in MVC Championship history. The Redbirds’ overall score after two rounds stands at 556, followed by Murray State at 567 and Southern Illinois at 569.

TJ Barger posted a two-under-par round for a two-day total of 140, setting a school record with his twenty-fourth round at or under par. Max Faucquez finished with a second-round score of 69 and holds the lowest par-three scoring average in the field.
