Illinois State Representative Brad Fritts announced on Apr. 19 that his office will hold a free Medicare 101 event for local residents on April 20 at the Mills & Petrie Memorial Library in Ashton. The seminar, scheduled from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, is being held in collaboration with the Northwestern Illinois Area Agency on Aging.
The event aims to help seniors better understand their Medicare benefits and make informed decisions about their coverage options. According to Fritts, “This free informational seminar is a great resource we can provide our senior community to ensure they are able to fully utilize their Medicare benefits. This event will assist Medicare recipients in making empowered decisions about their coverage options. Questions from attendees are encouraged!”
Fritts was elected as a Republican representative to the Illinois State House in 2023, succeeding Dan Swanson as the representative for the state’s 74th House District, according to public records.
The upcoming seminar is intended for all area seniors who want more information or have questions about navigating Medicare plans and services.
Events like this may offer additional support for older adults seeking clarity on health insurance matters and demonstrate ongoing efforts by local officials to address community needs.
