Illinois State softball lost to Murray State, 6-1, in its final home game of the season at Marian Kneer Stadium on April 26.

The loss marks the sixth straight for Illinois State, as the team managed six hits but left seven runners on base. The Redbirds’ only run came in the fourth inning when Morgan Calhoun hit a leadoff double and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Ella Boyer. Calhoun finished the game going three-for-three with a double and one run scored.

Paige McLeod started for Illinois State and took the loss after pitching three innings, allowing four runs—three earned—on six hits. Hannah Meshnick and Gracelyn Kemp also pitched in relief. Murray State built an early lead with an RBI double in the second inning and extended it by hitting three consecutive doubles in the fourth to make it 4-0. The Racers added two more runs across the sixth and seventh innings.
