The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams will travel to California for the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University from April 16 to 18, while also competing at the Augustana Meet of Champions in Rock Island, Illinois on April 17 and 18.
These competitions come just weeks before the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Outdoor Championships. Seven Titans currently lead their conference events. Jacob Pinkston leads the men’s 800 meters with a time of 1:56.03, while Mackenzie Huber tops the women’s event with a best outdoor time of 2:13.92 this season.
In field events, Isaac Whitaker holds the top men’s pole vault mark after clearing 4.55 meters at a recent meet. Carson Green is leading in men’s long jump following his career-best leap of 6.90 meters, which also places him ninth on the program’s all-time list. Imani Ogunribido leads Division III in women’s triple jump with a season-best mark of 12.43 meters as she defends her national championship title.
Gavin Gonzalez recently broke a program record that stood for over three decades with a javelin throw of 60.87 meters, while Taylor French sits sixth on the program’s all-time list after throwing for a season-best distance of 41.33 meters.
Adriana Crabtree, Evan Lowder, and Huber—all recognized as Indoor U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Americans—are scheduled to participate at the Bryan Clay Invitational alongside their teammates.
The Illinois Wesleyan Titans Men’s Track and Field team hosts indoor events at Shirk Center Indoor Track, according to the official website.
