Joe McCormick passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 91, at his home in St. Louis, surrounded by his family. Joe’s life was defined by hard work, determination, humility, and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Born to Claudia and Joseph McCormick, Joe excelled in football at Fenwick and pursued his passion at Northwestern University, Great Lakes Naval Academy, University of New Mexico, and Southern Illinois University. Following his marriage to Margaret in 1961, Joe embarked on a successful career in the paper industry, founding General Credit Forms, Inc., and expanding his business ventures in subsequent decades.

Throughout his professional life, Joe’s commitment to his employees, customers, and colleagues was unwavering. His drive to provide for his family, including his seven children, was evident, and he took pride in their accomplishments. Joe’s success enabled him to generously support charitable causes while keeping his acts of philanthropy private.

Joe’s legacy lives on through his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Manhattan, IL, Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City, MO, or The BackStoppers in St. Louis, MO.

Visitation and memorial services will be held on October 23 at Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home in Creve Coeur, MO, and on October 25 at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home in Manhattan, IL, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church. Joe will be laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Cemetery alongside Margaret.
