Joseph J. Ricken passed away unexpectedly on June 9, 2025. He was the loving husband of 38 years to Carol (nee McTeague) and the proud father of Jeremy, Juliet Newton (Michael), Maureen, and Michelle. Joseph cherished his role as a grandfather to Christian, Caelyn, Paul, and Elizabeth.

Committed to lifelong learning, Joseph achieved an Undergraduate and two Master’s Degrees. His dedication shone through in his career as a high school English teacher, where he instilled the value of education in his children and students.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Gladys of Lemont, and his brother Peter. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church in Lemont, IL.
