New attorneys were admitted to practice law in Illinois on May 6, as part of ceremonies held across all five judicial districts. Justice Mary K. O’Brien administered the oath to 32 new attorneys during the Third Judicial District ceremony at the Will County Courthouse in Joliet.
Perry Browder, President-Elect of the Illinois State Bar Association, served as the speaker for the event.
The admission ceremony is a significant milestone for new lawyers beginning their professional careers. The Illinois Bar Association serves more than 28,000 members and supports them by providing continuing legal education, practice management resources and professional networking opportunities, according to the official website.
The association promotes diversity, equity and inclusion to foster participation of all attorneys and enhance community wellbeing. It also recognizes excellence through awards for pro bono service and diversity leadership and utilizes the Illinois Bar Center for its administrative and educational operations. The organization operates under the guidance of an elected president, a Board of Governors and an Assembly, according to the official website.
Looking ahead, these newly admitted attorneys join a broad network supported by longstanding traditions within Illinois’ legal community.
