Kin, a direct-to-consumer digital home and auto insurance and home financing provider, was recognized on June 1 with three honors from USA Today and Plant-A Insight Group. The company was named to “USA TODAY’s Most Trusted Brands 2026,” “USA TODAY’s Most Trusted Brands by Parents 2026,” and the “America’s Best Customer Service in Financial Services 2026” lists.

These recognitions highlight Kin’s reliability and customer service across auto, home, and rental insurance categories. The designation as “Most Trusted Brand by Parents” acknowledges Kin’s commitment to protecting homes in high-risk states. Out of more than 13,000 companies analyzed, Kin was identified as a leader in customer service excellence. This status is supported by its focus on transparency and consumer confidence in regions facing significant risk.

“Trust is earned by our actions every day. Homeowners trust us with their biggest asset, often in places where finding reliable insurance has become increasingly difficult,” said Sean Harper, CEO of Kin Insurance. “Being recognized for both trust and customer service tells us we’re delivering on what matters most: helping people protect their homes with a simpler experience, fair pricing, and support they can count on when they need it. Technology helps us do that at scale, but it’s our team and our commitment to customers that make the difference.”

The rankings are based on independent research conducted by USA Today and Plant-A Insight Group. The “Most Trusted Brands” designation comes from a survey of over 24,000 U.S. consumers evaluating brands for reliability, emotional connection, and transparency. The “Best Customer Service” study surveyed more than 57,000 customers who manually identified companies by name.

As of May 31, Kin holds an “Excellent” rating of 4.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot.com based on over 7,500 reviews; an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau; a score of 4.83 out of 5 based on more than 1,500 reviews; and a Google review score of 4.7 out of five from over 8,700 reviews.

According to Kin’s official website, the company operates as a reciprocal exchange through licensed carriers using a policyholder-owned model to align incentives via its subscribers’ committee structure; it reports more than 240,000 policies issued nationwide with over 750 employees; its carriers hold an ‘A’ (Exceptional) rating from Demotech while partnering with more than forty reinsurers; it focuses on transforming home insurance through technology-based underwriting designed to deliver affordable coverage.
