Kirby School District 140 highlights student achievements in weekly wrap-up

Kirby School District 140 released its Weekly Wrap-Up on Apr. 17, showcasing the talents and passion of its students through a collection of candid photos. The district also reminded families that the registration discount deadline ends April 30.

The Weekly Wrap-Up aims to capture the spirit of Kirby School District 140 by sharing moments from classrooms and school events. According to the announcement, “Each week, Kirby School District 140 celebrates the talents and passion of our students by posting a collection of candid photos. Every picture tells a story, and together, these snapshots capture the spirit of Kirby School District 140. #KirbyONE40 #EveryChildEveryDay.”

John A. Bannes Elementary School is one of the schools in Kirby School District 140 and had an enrollment of 433 students during the 2019-2020 school year, serving grades Kindergarten through five in Tinley Park and Cook County, according to the Illinois Report Card. Enrollment data shows that grade three had the highest concentration with about 18.9 percent of all students during that period.



Other grade-level distributions at John A. Bannes Elementary for that year included about 14.5 percent in grade five,according to Illinois Report Card, approximately fifteen percent in grade four,according to Illinois Report Card, around fifteen point seven percent in grade two,according to Illinois Report Card, and about fourteen point one percent in grade one,according to Illinois Report Card.

The Weekly Wrap-Up continues as an ongoing effort by Kirby School District 140 to keep families informed and engaged with student activities throughout its schools.
