Kirkland & Ellis announced on May 21 that it represented a newly formed AI-native enterprise services company, which is led by Anthropic, Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman and others, in the acquisition of Fractional AI. The acquired company is described as a leading applied AI services firm based in San Francisco.
The transaction marks a significant step for the new enterprise services company as it seeks to help mid-size companies integrate Claude into their core operations. Fractional AI’s team and delivery capabilities will become the founding operational centerpiece of this new entity.
According to Kirkland & Ellis, financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The legal team advising on the deal included corporate lawyers Lauren Colasacco and Alan Heisman; tax lawyers Michael Beinus and Vivek Ratnam; executive compensation lawyers Michael Krasnovsky and Matthew Wood; and technology and intellectual property transactions lawyers Seth Traxler and Amber Harezlak.
The formation of this AI-native enterprise services company comes at a time when businesses are increasingly looking to adopt artificial intelligence solutions across their operations. The involvement of firms such as Anthropic, Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman highlights ongoing interest from both technology innovators and investment groups in expanding applied AI capabilities for business clients.
Further details about the transaction can be found in the official press release.
