The Lincoln-Way Central Knights defeated the Lincoln-Way West Warriors 15–3 in a varsity girls water polo conference game.
The matchup, held at Lincoln-Way Central High School, saw the Knights deliver a dominant performance. Lincoln-Way Central scored 15 goals while holding Lincoln-Way West to just 3. The Knights controlled the match from start to finish, building a decisive lead through consistent scoring and strong overall play. Their defensive effort limited West’s opportunities, keeping them from generating offensive momentum. The 12-goal margin highlights Central’s ability to dictate the pace and execute effectively on both ends of the pool, according to MaxPreps.
Lincoln-Way Central will next face Stevenson in a neutral tournament game at the Fenwick “Mike Murphy” Tournament on April 11, as reported by MaxPreps. The last time these teams met, on May 5, 2018, Lincoln-Way Central fell to Stevenson 14–7 at Stevenson High School.
Lincoln-Way Central High School serves grades 9 to 12 and had an enrollment of 1,968 students during the 2019-2020 school year. It is located in New Lenox and Will County, according to Illinois Report Card. Of those students, grade 11 had the highest concentration with 23.5 percent of all students enrolled during that period. Grade distributions were as follows: grade 12 made up 23.2 percent; grade 10 accounted for 23.1 percent; and grade 9 comprised 21.4 percent of total enrollment.
According to the Illinois Report Card, Lincoln-Way Central High School’s student body was composed of approximately 85.6 percent white students, with black students making up 1.6 percent, Hispanic students accounting for 9.5 percent, and Asian students representing another 1.6 percent during the same school year.
