The Lincoln-Way Central Knights defeated the Carl Sandburg Eagles 13–12 in a varsity water polo conference game.

The matchup was closely contested, with Lincoln-Way Central securing a narrow one-goal victory. The team showcased strong offensive production and timely defensive plays. Jack Mroz led the way with a standout season performance, contributing significantly in goals and steals to help maintain momentum. Dan Fiske played a key role in facilitating the offense with his team-leading assists, helping create scoring opportunities throughout the game. Lincoln-Way Central held off a late push from Sandburg to seal the 13-12 win, according to MaxPreps.

The game took place at Lincoln-Way Central High School on March 31, as reported by MaxPreps. Up next, Lincoln-Way Central will host Lockport in a tournament game on April 3 at their home pool, according to MaxPreps. The last time these teams met, Lincoln-Way Central defeated Lockport 18–9 on March 20, 2025 at Lincoln-Way Central High School, also reported by MaxPreps.

Lincoln-Way Central High School serves grades 9 through 12 and had an enrollment of 1,968 students during the 2019-2020 school year. It is located in New Lenox and Will County, according to Illinois Report Card. Of those students, grade 11 had the highest concentration with 23.5 percent of all students enrolled during that period; grade 12 accounted for 23.2 percent; grade 10 for 23.1 percent; and grade 9 for 21.4 percent of enrollment figures as reported by Illinois Report Card.

According to the Illinois Report Card, Lincoln-Way Central High School’s student body was composed of approximately 85.6 percent white students, 1.6 percent black students, 9.5 percent Hispanic students, and 1.6 percent Asian students during the same school year.
