Lincoln-Way West Warriors Explodes Offensively in Win Over Stagg Chargers

The Lincoln-Way West Warriors defeated the Amos Alonzo Stagg Chargers 21–11 in a varsity boys baseball game. The Warriors overcame an early back-and-forth start by erupting for a massive third inning and maintaining offensive pressure throughout to pull away for the win.

The matchup saw both teams trade five-run innings early before Lincoln-Way West pulled ahead with a nine-run third inning that shifted momentum for good. The Warriors finished with 16 hits and 21 runs, capitalizing on Stagg’s defensive miscues. Jackson Mansker led the team with a perfect 4-for-4 performance and three runs batted in, while Michael Pettit contributed two hits, four RBIs, and a home run. Max Silic and Jacob Howard also added key extra-base hits and RBIs. On the mound, Owen Chudzinski provided stability in relief by tossing three scoreless innings and allowing just one hit to shut down Stagg’s offense after a high-scoring start, according to MaxPreps.

Lincoln-Way West will next host Lincoln-Way East in another conference game scheduled for April 13, as reported by MaxPreps. The last meeting between these teams resulted in an 8–7 loss for Lincoln-Way West on April 14, 2025 at Lincoln-Way East High School.

Lincoln Way West serves grades nine through twelve and had an enrollment of 1,941 students during the 2019-2020 school year. It is located in New Lenox within Will County, according to Illinois Report Card. Of those enrolled that year, grade ten had the highest concentration of students at 39.4 percent; grade twelve accounted for 37 percent; grade eleven made up 36.1 percent; and grade nine comprised 36.3 percent of students.

Demographically, Lincoln Way West was composed of approximately 81.8 percent white students, 12.7 percent Hispanic students, 1.8 percent black students, and one percent Asian students during the same period according to Illinois Report Card.
