The Lincoln-Way West Warriors defeated the Lincoln-Way Central Knights 14–11 in a varsity boys water polo conference game.

The matchup was held at Lincoln-Way West High School and featured strong offensive play from both teams. The Warriors secured the win with a strong offensive performance, scoring 14 goals to outpace Lincoln-Way Central in a competitive matchup. The Warriors maintained their edge throughout the game by consistently finding scoring opportunities while holding off Central’s 11-goal effort. Despite Central’s strong individual contributions, including high totals in goals, assists, and steals, West managed to stay in control with steady play on both ends. The three-goal margin reflects a tightly contested game where the Warriors executed well to protect their lead, according to MaxPreps.

Lincoln-Way West will next face Lane Tech in a neutral tournament game on April 10, as reported by MaxPreps. The last time these teams met, on April 13, 2024, Lincoln-Way West defeated Lane Tech 12–11 at a neutral site, according to MaxPreps.

Lincoln Way West serves grades 9 to 12 and had an enrollment of 1,941 students during the 2019-2020 school year. It is located in New Lenox and Will County, according to Illinois Report Card. Out of those enrolled students, grade distribution was as follows: grade 9 made up 36.3 percent; grade 10 had the highest concentration at 39.4 percent; grade 11 accounted for 36.1 percent; and grade 12 comprised 37 percent of all students during that period.

According to the Illinois Report Card, Lincoln Way West’s student body was composed of approximately 81.8 percent white students, 1.8 percent black students, 12.7 percent Hispanic students, and one percent Asian students during the same school year.
