The Village of Lindenhurst announced on May 5 that it will partner with Lakes Community High School to host a commemorative community drone photo in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. The event is scheduled for May 22, with residents invited to gather at the high school by 3:45 p.m. and the drone photograph set to begin at 4:00 p.m.

Organizers say this event aims to unite residents in a shared display of patriotism and community spirit, marking a significant milestone in American history. The gathering is intended as an opportunity for the community to come together and be part of what they describe as a historic moment.

“This is a unique opportunity to be part of a historic moment as our community proudly honors 250 years of America’s history, spirit, and unity,” organizers said in their announcement.

Residents are encouraged to invite neighbors, friends, and family members to participate in creating what organizers hope will be a memorable patriotic display from above. The event seeks not only to celebrate national heritage but also strengthen local ties among participants.

The commemorative photograph is expected to serve as a lasting record of Lindenhurst’s pride and unity during this national observance. Organizers express hope that the image will capture “Lindenhurst’s pride, patriotism, and community spirit for years to come.”
