Aurora – Mark Crosby, age 55, passed away in Aurora, Illinois, on July 9, 2025. He was born on October 23, 1969, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, to Frank and Ida Crosby (Kirnbauer). After graduating from Hubbard High School in 1987, he embarked on his career in warehouse management, showcasing his dedication and strong work ethic.

Mark was a loving and devoted father, making his family the center of his world. He is survived by his children: Heather Crosby, Grace Crosby, Raymond Crosby, and Chelsey (Sean) Riethmaier. He found great pride and joy as a doting grandfather to Dave, Tommy, Isabelle, Noah, Oliver, and Max. Mark is also survived by his brother Mike Crosby, sister Janice Humbert, and many other family members and friends who held a deep affection for him.

Mark faced life with courage and honesty, confronting its challenges head-on. Through his resilience and determination, he worked towards self-improvement not only for his benefit but also to nurture the relationships he held dear. Despite his burdens, he strived to make amends, showing unwavering commitment to rebuilding trust and strengthening bonds. A meticulous planner, he constantly looked to the future, always prioritizing his presence and support for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ida Crosby, and by Michelle Harris, the mother of his children.

A loyal fan of the Chicago Bears, Mark rarely missed a game, his love for football paralleled only by his enjoyment of family gatherings and bringing laughter to his grandchildren. Remembered for his protective nature, resilience, and tender heart behind a tough exterior, Mark will be forever cherished and missed.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation and a celebration of Mark’s life on Friday, July 18th, from 3:00 PM until the time of the service at 7:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 S. Harlem Ave., Tinley Park, IL 60477.
