Matthew Kordesh of the Big Blue men’s tennis team was named a 2026 CSC Academic All-District honoree by the College Sports Communicators on May 12. The recognition highlights student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically.

Kordesh, a junior physics major from Fishers, Indiana, is receiving this honor for the first time. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and participate in at least 75 percent of their team’s competition days.

During the season, Kordesh competed at both number one and two singles positions, finishing with a singles record of 12-8. In doubles play, he partnered with several teammates across different spots in the lineup to achieve a combined record of 15-5.

The full list of honorees is available through the College Sports Communicators website. The recognition serves as an acknowledgment of academic commitment among collegiate athletes.

Looking ahead, such honors can motivate other student-athletes to balance their academic pursuits with athletic responsibilities.
