Donna Ruyter (née Spolar) of Woodridge will be remembered fondly by her three sons: BJ, Derrick, and Brandon, and her grandchildren Shaun, Ryan, and Audrey. She was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Joyce Spolar, sister to Nancy Pellegrini, and loving aunt to Lindsey and Jaime. Affectionately known as “Auntie Elvis,” Donna will be missed by many friends, neighbors, and customers she met during her time at Shanahan’s and in the service industry.

A memorial service for Donna will take place on Saturday, July 12, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a eulogy at 4:00 PM at Richard J. Modell Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Homer Glen.

Donna had a passion for cooking and was known for owning an array of kitchen gadgets. Her love for Elvis Presley, which inspired her nickname, was overshadowed only by her love for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
