Millikin Baseball was ranked No. 25 in the latest ABCA Coaches Poll, according to an April 28 announcement from the team.
The ranking comes after Millikin secured the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Regular Season Championship with a conference record of 15–5. The team’s strong performance has drawn national attention as it heads into postseason play.
Five players on the Millikin roster are currently batting above .300, with Ty Cribbett leading at a .382 average and four triples. Carder Reich has also been instrumental, leading in hits (52), doubles (13), and runs batted in (42). This offensive consistency has contributed to the team’s success throughout the season.
Pitching has also been a strength for Millikin. Caleb Akins has pitched 74 innings with 66 strikeouts and held opponents to a .189 batting average. Gavin Houchins posted a 1.59 earned run average with 49 strikeouts over 39 innings, while Brayden Saling recorded a 2.26 ERA with 34 strikeouts and allowed just 17 runs.
Looking ahead, Millikin is set to travel to face Rose-Hulman Fightin’ Engineers on Wednesday as it seeks to continue its momentum.
