Millikin University’s men’s golf team finished third at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s Golf Championships in Rockford, Ill., according to a May 1 announcement. Two Millikin players, Jack Bollinger and Jake Krstulovich, received all-conference recognition for their performances.
The team’s third-place finish came after posting a three-round total score of 913 (308-300-305), placing them just nine strokes behind second place and one stroke ahead of Carthage. Bollinger led the team with an individual sixth-place finish, recording rounds of 75, 72, and 76 for a total score of 223 (+7). This marks his second all-conference honor. “The senior’s career scoring average notches him at sixth all-time in Millikin men’s golf history with a career average of 75.60,” the statement said.
Krstulovich tied for fifteenth place with a score of 229 (+13) to earn second team all-conference honors. Other contributors included Martin Ammeux in twenty-seventh place (235), Luke Bradley tied for twenty-eighth (236), and Luke Butler tied for thirty-first (237). Bradley concluded his senior season ranked seventh in career standings with an average round score of 75.94.
After starting the tournament with a first-round score of 308, Millikin improved to shoot its lowest round on day two at 300, moving into a tie for second place before ultimately securing third overall by tournament’s end.
Illinois Wesleyan won the championship title with an overall team score of 867, followed by Augustana at 909 and Millikin just four shots back from Augustana.
