The Millikin men’s and women’s track and field teams concluded competition at the CCIW Outdoor Championships on May 2, with several athletes achieving podium finishes, all-conference honors, and new entries on the program’s all-time top-10 lists.
The results highlight strong performances across both track and field events. Emmanuel Nwatu finished second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.75 seconds, earning all-conference recognition. This performance also ranks third in Millikin program history.
In relay events, the men’s 4×400-meter team—composed of Emmett Emmons, Aaron Mohr, Jaiden Walkin, and Awstace Grauer—placed third with a time of 3:22.31 to secure a spot on the podium and receive all-conference honors. The men’s 4×100-meter relay team (Brody Roberts, Emmett Emmons, Emmanuel Nwatu, Awstace Grauer) also earned all-conference distinction by finishing in 42.90 seconds.
On the women’s side, Hannah Sago was runner-up in the high jump after clearing 1.59 meters. Her result ties her for fourth place on Millikin’s all-time list for that event.
Additional individual achievements included Brooklynn Sweikar’s all-conference finish in the women’s 1500 meters (4:47.08), Brock Richards’ ninth-ranked time in program history for the men’s 1500 meters (4:01.57), Aaron Mohr’s performance in the men’s 800 meters (1:57.18), Reece Butcher’s recognition for his time of 2:02.14 in that same event, and Hunter Danberry’s discus throw of 43.90 meters which earned him an all-conference spot.
In combined events competition, Matthew Schumacher and Jack Pearce represented Millikin in the decathlon while Taylor Beiler and Audrey Remole competed in the heptathlon.
The championships concluded with multiple Big Blue athletes receiving conference honors as well as making advancements within Millikin’s historical performance records.
