Oak Lawn, IL – Mr. Michael Du Puy, of Oak Lawn, passed away on July 18, 2025, at the age of 77 after an extended hospital stay. Born on December 30, 1947, in Escanaba, Michigan, to Howard and Elizabeth Du Puy, he was the eldest brother to Denese (Roscoe), Carol (Fred) Mc Laflin, and Brian (Pam) Du Puy.

Michael, known as Mike, was a devoted father to three daughters: Michelle, Linda, and Tracy, and stepfather to Anthony (Diane) Wuethrich. He cherished his role as Papa to 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and enjoyed being an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Mike’s greatest passion was his family, and he was known for his playful and youthful spirit. Alongside his wife Linda of 46 years, he enjoyed traveling, camping, attending muscle car shows, and spending time with their animals. Known for his strong work ethic, Mike held multiple jobs simultaneously for much of his life, embodying discipline, family values, and compassion.

Beyond his professional life, Mike dedicated himself to church work, leadership roles in fraternal organizations, and community service through his involvement in the Boy Scouts and Aglow International. A man admired for his character, Mike will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 20, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the funeral service on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Maher Funeral Home. The entombment service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen Park at 11:00 a.m. To send flowers or plant a tree in memory of Mr. Michael Du Puy, please visit our floral store.
