Junior Nate Pound of the Illinois Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Player of the Week, according to an announcement by the organization on April 14.
The recognition follows a standout performance by Pound, who helped lead his team to a 25-5 victory over Carroll University on April 11. He recorded eight points in the game, with four goals and four assists, setting new personal bests in all three categories. Additionally, he contributed a ground ball and caused a turnover during the match.
Pound is now the fourth player from Illinois Wesleyan to receive a weekly conference honor this season. Previous honorees include Billy McHugh for defensive play on February 17, Timothy McHugh for offense on March 10, and Owen Miller for offense on March 31.
The Illinois Wesleyan Titans Men’s Lacrosse competes at the NCAA Division III level according to the official website.
