New attorneys were admitted to practice law in Illinois across all five judicial districts, according to a May 13 announcement. Justice Lisa Holder White administered the oath to four new attorneys during the Fourth Judicial District ceremony at the Illinois Supreme Court Building in Springfield.

The event featured remarks from keynote speaker John Gabela, as well as John Kim and Heather McPherson, who serves as Third Vice-President of the Illinois State Bar Association.

The admission of new attorneys is an important milestone for both the legal profession and the broader community. The Illinois Bar Association supports these professionals by providing continuing legal education, practice management resources, and professional networking opportunities, according to the official website.

The association also promotes diversity, equity and inclusion to foster participation among all attorneys and enhance community wellbeing. It recognizes excellence through awards for pro bono service and diversity leadership, utilizes the Illinois Bar Center for administrative and educational operations, serves more than 28,000 members statewide, and operates under an elected president with oversight from a Board of Governors and an Assembly—all according to its official website.

Looking ahead, newly admitted attorneys will have access to these resources as they begin their careers in law. The support structure provided by organizations such as the Illinois Bar Association helps ensure that new members are equipped with tools needed for professional success.
