Northwestern University released on Apr. 23 a schedule of campus events taking place from May 13 to May 19. The week features music performances, academic lectures, athletic competitions, and community activities open to all.

The announcement highlights several notable gatherings. Director of Athletic Bands Daniel J. Farris will conduct his final Concert Band program on Friday, and Dillo Day 54 is set for Saturday across the campus.

Among the scheduled events is the fifth annual Carlos Montezuma Native Health Lecture by Teresa Montoya from the University of Chicago. Montoya will discuss uranium contamination’s impact on the Navajo Nation and Diné homelands at noon on Thursday, May 14, in the Searle Seminar Room at Lurie Research Building in Chicago. Registration is available for those wishing to attend virtually.

Sports fans are invited to support Northwestern’s baseball team as they conclude their regular season with a three-game series against Rutgers at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park in Evanston. Games take place at 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday (May 14-15), with free admission for Thursday’s game, and at 1 p.m. on Saturday (May 16). Tickets are required for Friday and Saturday games.

Other activities include a post-Dillo Day clean-up event offering breakfast and prizes on Sunday morning; a spring festival concert featuring the Millar Choir and Baroque Music Ensemble Sunday evening; an academic talk by Nancy Okail from the Center for International Policy about U.S. policy in Iran on Monday; and an artist talk by Quan Zhou exploring themes of ancestry through AI-generated histories Tuesday afternoon.

The university encourages community participation in these events as part of its ongoing effort to engage students, faculty, staff, and local residents.
