Northwestern University announced on May 13 a 3.5% increase in undergraduate tuition for the 2026-2027 school year.
The university said that undergraduate tuition will be $71,802, with standard room and board set at $22,941 and fees totaling $1,260. Tuition and fees support a wide range of student instruction and services, as well as faculty research.
According to Northwestern University, the undergraduate student health and wellness fee is $894 and supports health programs. The activity fee of $294 funds student organizations and amenities, while the athletics fee of $72 allows undergraduates to attend all home athletics events.
The university confirmed that it will continue to meet cost-of-attendance needs without loans for all undergraduates eligible for financial aid. Financial need will be met through grants, scholarships, summer earnings expectations, and work-study opportunities.
These changes are intended to maintain funding for academic programs and campus life while supporting students’ access to resources.
