Mike Koolidge, chairman of the Ogle County Republican Central Committee, said on April 17 that local Republicans are focusing on strengthening precinct-level organization, boosting turnout ahead of the November elections, and preparing for upcoming America 250-related activities.
He said the effort is aimed in part at engaging voters who have supported Republican presidential candidates in past cycles but do not consistently participate in non-presidential elections, with precinct committeemen serving as a central component of outreach and organization.
“There are tons of voters in Ogle County who voted reliably and proudly for President Trump three times that for whatever reason don’t vote in off-year elections like this one. We must do everything we can to remind them to vote this November,” Koolidge said.
“If we don’t turn out our voters, we don’t win, it’s that simple. It’s a perfect time to honor our nation’s founding ideals of liberty and self-governance right here in our community,” he added.
The Ogle County Republican Central Committee says its mission includes increasing Republican voter participation, supporting aligned candidates, and informing residents about local issues. According to the committee’s official website, precinct organization and regular meetings are key parts of its grassroots strategy, including volunteer recruitment and election coordination efforts across the county.
Public notices from the organization show meetings held at the Ogle County Courthouse in Oregon, Illinois, typically on the third floor at 6:30 p.m., where discussions often center on precinct recruitment, volunteer coordination, and voter outreach.
Those local efforts are also being aligned with broader commemorations tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary. Illinois America 250 describes its initiative as a statewide observance of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026, while the national America250 program coordinates related events across the country. The state also designates participating “250th Communities” as part of the celebration.
Koolidge, who was first elected chairman in 2022, has emphasized voter turnout, party growth, and improved communication with residents as key priorities during his tenure.
