A&R Services and Illinois American Water announced on Apr. 23 that the closure of Paula Drive between Powers Lane and McKinley Avenue will be extended, with the road now scheduled to reopen on Friday, May 1, 2026, weather permitting. The closure began on Monday, April 13.

The extension is necessary to complete ongoing water main installation in the area. During this period, through traffic will not be allowed on Paula Drive. However, access to all local properties will be maintained throughout the construction.

The project aims to improve local water infrastructure by installing a new water main along this section of Paula Drive. This work is part of continued efforts by A&R Services and Illinois American Water to update essential utilities in the community.

Officials said they appreciate residents’ patience during this process and encourage drivers to plan alternate routes until the road reopens.

Once completed, the new water main is expected to enhance service reliability for nearby homes and businesses.
