Peter Michael Claxton, age 47, of Peotone, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. He was born on November 5, 1977, in Harvey, IL, the son of Dennis and Patricia Claxton.

Peter is survived by his parents, Dennis and Patricia Claxton, his seven siblings, Michelle, Suzy, Matt, Tim, Andy, Chuck, and Terry, nieces, nephews, a great-niece, and numerous Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his niece, Tess Claxton, his maternal grandparents Joseph and Dorothy Kapocius, and his paternal grandparents Clarence and Rosemarie Claxton.

Known as the “Rock” to his family, Peter had a deep impact on everyone he encountered. He cherished his family and excelled in the Special Olympics, particularly enjoying Unified Bocce with his father. His love for coloring, competing, and his family shone brightly throughout his life.

Visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, IL.
