Chicago radio host Dan Proft took aim at Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D-Ill.) after new tax filings showed the governor and his wife reported $10.3 million in taxable income, including $1.4 million in gambling winnings.

“Pritzker’s sports betting system is paying dividends,” Proft posted on X. “He only wagers on men playing women’s sports.”

Proft’s comment mocked Pritzker’s support for allowing boys to compete in girls’ sports, tying it to the governor’s gambling disclosure.

Pritzker won roughly $1.4 million from blackjack during a trip to Las Vegas with his wife and friends, reported the Associated Press. His campaign said the amount reflected net winnings after losses and that the governor plans to donate the proceeds to charity.

The couple’s 2024 tax filings, first reported by the Washington Post, showed $10.7 million in adjusted gross income, with most earnings coming from investments managed through family trusts.

Proft is a Chicago-based political commentator, former Republican gubernatorial candidate, and co-founder of the People Who Play by the Rules PAC, a political committee active in Illinois state and local races. He is also the morning co-host of Chicago’s Morning Answer on AM 560 The Answer and a frequent critic of Democratic leadership in Illinois.

The host of “Chicago Morning Answer” on AM 560, Proft is a graduate of Northwestern University and received his J.D. from Loyola University-Chicago.
