A weekend closure is planned for the ramp connecting westbound Illinois Route 390 Tollway to Gary Avenue. The closure, set for pavement repair work, will begin at 10 p.m. on Friday, June 20, and last until 4 a.m. on Monday, June 23. During this period, a detour will direct traffic to exit at Roselle Road before reaching Gary Avenue, with drivers then routed along Central Avenue to access Gary Avenue.

Additionally, the westbound Illinois Route 390 over Springinsguth Road will be reduced to a single lane starting at the same time as the ramp closure. Electronic message signs and construction signage will inform drivers about the changes.

The Illinois Tollway is coordinating this construction with various local agencies including the Illinois Department of Transportation and local fire and police departments. This work is part of a larger effort under the Move Illinois program, aimed at maintaining roadways in good condition through concrete and asphalt repairs.

The project involves overnight and weekend-long lane and ramp closures throughout the year. The Illinois Tollway emphasizes safety in construction zones by enforcing speed limits and reminding motorists of the “Move Over Law.” Violations can result in significant fines or even jail time.

Illinois State Police maintain strict enforcement of these laws to ensure safety for both workers and drivers.
