State Representative Brad Fritts welcomed Ellyn Schoenholz and Marla VanVickle to the annual Women to Watch Conference in Springfield, according to an April 27 announcement. The event is organized by the Illinois House Republicans as a networking and recognition opportunity.
The conference highlights women who have made notable contributions within their communities. Schoenholz and VanVickle were recognized for their leadership roles in the 74th District.
“It was an honor to welcome Ellyn Schoenholz and Marla VanVickle to the Women to Watch Event,” said Rep. Fritts. “Both Ellyn and Marla are incredible leaders who continually show up in our community to make it a better place. I was honored to bring them to Springfield as representatives of the 74th District.”
VanVickle is a registered Family Nurse Practitioner with a master’s degree, known for founding Fit2Fight, a wellness program focused on preventative healthcare and fitness-for-duty evaluations for first responders. Schoenholz serves as Vice President of First State Bank in Mendota, assists with her family farm, and participates actively in several organizations across the district.
Honorees attended activities at the State Capitol Complex during the one-day conference, which included a networking lunch and panel discussion featuring Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie and Iowa Lieutenant Governor Chris Gearhart Cournoyer.
Fritts was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois’ 74th House District in 2023, succeeding Dan Swanson according to available information.
