State Representative Jackie Haas announced on May 13 that she will host her sixth annual job fair on Wednesday, June 10, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Knights of Columbus at 187 S. Indiana Avenue in Kankakee. The event is free and will feature more than 40 employers from various sectors.

The job fair aims to connect local residents seeking employment with businesses and organizations offering open positions. Workshops are also planned to help attendees improve their job search skills.

“I am excited to host my 6th annual Job Fair again this year,” said Rep. Haas. “I always appreciate the opportunity to connect prospective employees with local employers, which is a win-win for everyone. All are encouraged to attend!”

Employers scheduled to participate include ABF Freight, Aqua America, CSL Plasma, Illinois Department of Corrections, Kankakee Community College, Nucor Steel, USPS, and many others across public and private sectors.

Attendees can take part in free workshops throughout the morning: ‘How to Navigate Through the State of Illinois Hiring Process’ at 9:00 a.m., ‘How to Write a Resume to Get Noticed’ at 10:00 a.m., and ‘I Have an Interview…Now What?’ at 11:00 a.m.

Haas was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois’ 79th House District in 2020 after replacing Lindsay Parkhurst, according to Ballotpedia.
