State Representative Kevin Schmidt recognized Good Morning Cafe as his ‘Business of The Month’ for April, according to a May 11 announcement. Schmidt visited owners Chelsea Vogel Martinez and Irepan Martinez to present an official certificate from the Illinois House of Representatives.

The recognition highlights local businesses in the community. Schmidt said, “It was a pleasure to meet Chelsea Vogel Martinez and Irepan Martinez to learn more about the family-owned business here in Millstadt. Chelsea built this café with the help of her family and is grateful for the support from the community. This business definitely has a comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere where only fresh food is always served!”

Good Morning Cafe offers traditional diner favorites along with unique specials, including some Mexican-inspired dishes. The cafe features a drive-through pickup window at the rear of the building, online ordering options, and a full coffee bar with various drinks including protein shakes.

Chelsea Vogel Martinez credits her staff for helping make every customer feel at home and said it took a family effort to realize her dream of owning a cafe.

Good Morning Cafe is located in Millstadt Marketplace at 725 W. Washington St., with contact available at 618-476-6197. Residents are encouraged by Schmidt to nominate other businesses for future recognition through an online form or by visiting RepSchmidt.com.

Schmidt was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois’ 114th House District in 2023, replacing LaToya Greenwood, according to Ballotpedia.
