South Wilmington, IL – Robert “Bob” J. Humbert, age 60, of South Wilmington, Illinois, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 10, 1965, in Joliet, IL, to Harold and Jean Humbert. Robert had a fulfilling career as a Building Trades Instructor at Grundy Area Vocational Center before retiring. He took great pleasure in hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Survived by his wife Wendy, Robert leaves behind his step-son Joshoua Gutzman of Midland, MI, step-daughter Amber (Jesse) Gutzman of Morris, IL, six grandchildren — Kaleb, Kaleigh, Brianna, Addalyn, Joshua, and Jaelynn — and his sisters Jane (Dave) Schnetlage of Clarksville, TN, Pat (Dave) Furlano of Carbon Hill, IL, and brother Tim Humbert of Central City, IL.

Robert was predeceased by his parents and step-daughter, Tara Leann Gutzman.
