Illinois State Representative Jason Bunting announced on Apr. 15 that Scarlett Siebert, a seventh-grade student at Watseka Junior High, served as his Page for a Day in the House chamber.
Siebert’s participation highlights youth engagement in state government and community service activities. She is involved in several extracurriculars, including the Builders Club and dance, plays volleyball, and acts as a student ambassador to the Iroquois County Juvenile Justice Council. In addition, she serves as co-chair of the kids zone at the Harvest Day event supporting the Old Courthouse Museum and helped found the Full Steam 4-H club focused on science, technology, engineering and math projects.
According to Bunting’s announcement, Siebert attended with a large group of students visiting for 4-H activities at the Capitol. She is also recognized as a fifth-generation member of 4-H along with her younger brother Elliott.
Bunting said he was honored to be joined by Siebert: “On Wednesday I was honored to be joined in the House chamber by Scarlett Siebert as my Page for a Day.”
Bunting has represented Illinois’ 106th House District since being elected in 2023 to replace former state representative Thomas Bennett according to available information.
The visit reflects ongoing efforts to connect young people with legislative processes and encourage civic involvement.
