Illinois State Representative Jason Bunting announced on Apr. 13 that he, along with Senator Chris Balkema and Representative Dennis Tipsword, will host a free senior expo in Pontiac on Wednesday, August 5. The event will take place at the Pontiac Rec Center, located at 900 N. Elm Street, from 9 a.m. until noon.

The expo aims to provide seniors and their caregivers with information and resources from dozens of vendors. Attendees can expect free health screenings, assistance for veterans, and details about local, state, and federal programs as well as local nonprofits.

Bunting said the event is designed to be helpful not only for seniors but also for those who care for them. “This is a great event for seniors and for those who care for them. I hope to see you there!” Bunting said.

Bunting was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 as a Republican representative of the state’s 106th House District after replacing former state representative Thomas Bennett according to Ballotpedia.

More information about the expo will be shared soon.
