Illinois State Representative Dave Severin thanked nurses for their dedication in a statement released on May 6, marking National Nurses Day and the beginning of Nurses Week. Severin said, “Today is National Nurses Day and the beginning of Nurses Week. This annual celebration of nurses is an opportunity to show our appreciation for these hardworking healthcare professionals. Thank you, nurses, for your grit, compassion, and commitment to healing your communities.”

National Nurses Day serves as a reminder to recognize the important role that nurses play in healthcare settings across communities.

Severin’s message highlights the value placed on healthcare workers who provide care and support throughout Illinois.

Severin was elected as a Republican to the Illinois State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 116th House District, replacing previous state representative David Friess, according to the Illinois General Assembly.

The statement also noted that campaign-related posts or comments are not permitted on state-sponsored websites due to ethics regulations.
