Silver Cross Hospital Foundation announced on May 6 that the Silver Belles Circle of King’s Daughters and Sons donated $4,000 to support inpatient dialysis services at Silver Cross Hospital.

The donation will be used to purchase updated dialysis education and clinical reference materials from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation. These resources are intended to help caregivers in the inpatient dialysis unit access current guidelines for policies, procedures, and patient care.

“On behalf of our patients and clinical team, we are deeply grateful to the Silver Belles for their continued generosity,” said Tracy Simons, Executive Director of the Silver Cross Foundation. “Access to the latest evidence-based resources is essential to delivering safe, high-quality dialysis care. This gift directly supports our commitment to excellence and patient safety.”

The hospital highlighted that the Silver Belles Union of King’s Daughters and Sons has a long history of supporting both patients and staff at Silver Cross Hospital through annual gifts, volunteerism, special projects, funding equipment purchases, comfort initiatives such as handmade blankets, and contributions toward clinical programs including dialysis services. In recent years their donations have provided specialized equipment so patients can receive advanced care locally.

“The Silver Belles are an extraordinary group whose dedication to our hospital spans generations,” said Simons. “Their unwavering commitment continues to elevate the care we deliver and touch the lives of countless patients and families.”

According to hospital officials, this most recent gift will ensure that staff remain aligned with best practices in safety and quality as they provide life-sustaining treatment for hospitalized patients with acute or chronic kidney conditions.
