Rep. Wayne Rosenthal said on May 12 that he met with Justin Tintori and members of the Springfield Fire Department (Local 37) at the Capitol.
The meeting highlighted the department’s recognized practices in public safety management. “Thank you to Justin Tintori and members of the Springfield Fire Department (Local 37) who stopped by on Friday,” said Rep. Wayne Rosenthal. “The Springfield Fire Department has implemented several best practices and is recognized by the Center for Public Safety Management for these practices.”
The Springfield Fire Department provides emergency response, fire prevention, and public safety education to residents of Springfield and surrounding districts. The department responds to fires, medical emergencies, technical rescues, and hazardous material incidents while also enforcing fire codes, conducting inspections, investigating causes of fires, and educating the community about fire prevention.
Firefighters in Springfield receive ongoing training to keep their skills up-to-date so they can respond effectively to emergencies. The department uses advanced technology during emergency responses and operates multiple stations throughout the city to provide timely service.
Rosenthal was elected as a Republican to represent Illinois’ 108th House District in 2023 after replacing previous state representative Charles Meier, according to Ballotpedia.
