State Representative Brad Stephens said on Apr. 22 that he supports Amendment 3 to HB910, a bill that recently passed in the Illinois House and aims to promote investment in large-scale projects across Illinois. The legislation is designed to encourage development and job growth by providing new tools for economic expansion.

The passage of this amendment is seen as an important step for economic growth and future opportunities within the state. Lawmakers say it could help secure long-term benefits for communities throughout Illinois.

“The State of Illinois desperately needs development, job growth, and continued investment to secure a future for generations to come. This bill gets us closer to achieving that: it creates the tools needed to ignite essential economic growth,” Stephens said in a statement.

Stephens, a Republican, was elected to the Illinois State House in 2019 representing the state’s 20th House District after succeeding Michael P. McAuliffe, according to Ballotpedia.

The bill will now be considered by the Illinois Senate for further review before any final decisions are made.
