• Quadrennial Review Discussion – Bryan Tribble & Richard Zuckerman Bryan talked about where we are with the Quadrennial review. He mentioned that at the last meeting, we had completed our last of 20 public input town hall meetings. At this time, we are focused on doing additional input meetings. The first meeting we did was with the survivors of the domestic violence community. We are going to be doing some additional outreach. We have approximately 4 more meetings we would like to get scheduled with other groups, which include our legal partners, the private bar, the judiciary, and academics. It would be similar to the questions and discussions that we went through in the public input forum meetings. Everyone will have a chance to weigh in on how the Child Support Guidelines for Illinois are working from their perspective. We got a lot of good info from the meetings. We realize the Guidelines are really good but, there are some ways we can make them better. We are going to be drafting a report that will be presented to the director, the governor’s office, and the legislature. We are working to get that group together and we will need volunteers from the HFS side to help us draft the report. We are distilling down all the comments we received from the public forum meetings, the meetings yet to be scheduled, and all the post public meeting surveys we sent out. Also, the post court experience surveys we sent out where we were looking at the families experience in the Illinois court rooms and how well they understood the guidelines and if there is anything outside the quadrennial review that the Child Support Advisory Committee can work on in the future. We are going to begin drafting over the next 3.5 months.
Richard Zuckerman put in the chat and discussed that anyone interested in volunteering and working on the draft committee to contact Bryan or himself by the end of the week. We are looking at everyone to help over the next 3.5 months so that we can get it passed by this group by December 31st. Richard asked if there were any questions and thanked all the members of the public input committee and everyone that worked so hard on all the meetings. It really is appreciated.
Dr. Kirk Harris volunteered to be on the drafting committee. Dr. Harris will talk to Bryan regarding additional outreach he is working on with other groups.
