Three Illinois State players named to 2026 Men’s All-Summit League Tennis Team

Illinois State University announced on Apr. 23 that Christian Capacci, Caden Scarlett, and Tomas Valencia have been named to the 2026 Men’s All-Summit League Tennis Team. The announcement was made by the league office ahead of the Summit League Championship scheduled for this weekend.

The recognition highlights the performance of these three athletes among a group of 18 men’s tennis players selected for the annual honor. Their achievements reflect Illinois State’s efforts to remain competitive in collegiate athletics.

Capacci, a sophomore from Forlimpopoli, Italy, recorded a 4-1 mark at No. 3 singles during Summit League play and contributed wins against Drake, Oral Roberts University (ORU), Omaha, and North Dakota. He finished with an overall singles record of 19-9 and also played doubles with Manuel Pavia.

Scarlett, a senior from Evansville, Indiana, matched Capacci’s conference record at No. 6 singles and secured key victories over Drake, Omaha, and North Dakota. Scarlett posted an overall singles record of 16-9 and went 14-9 in doubles matches alongside Tin Ostro.

Valencia earned his second All-Summit honor after being recognized in the previous year. The senior from Santiago, Chile played at No.1 singles and doubles positions for Illinois State with partner Adrian Dibildox in doubles competition.

Illinois State will participate as the fourth seed in the upcoming Summit League Men’s Tennis Championship at Michael D. Case Tennis Center on April 24–25 against top-seeded Denver Pioneers.
