Three members of the Illinois Wesleyan University men’s golf team were named NCAA Division III PING All-Region honorees, according to a May 10 announcement by the NCAA and the Golf Coaches Association of America. Senior Michael Spitzer received the honor for the third time, senior Aidan Healy was recognized for a second time, and sophomore Pablo Castro earned his first selection.
This recognition highlights individual achievements ahead of the 2026 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf National Championship. The awards reflect both consistency and standout performances during the season by these athletes from Illinois Wesleyan Titans Men’s Golf, which competes in NCAA Division III athletics and is affiliated with Illinois Wesleyan University and the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, according to the official website.
Spitzer enters his final tournament as a Titan with a career scoring average of 72.68, ranking third all-time in program history. This season he recorded thirteen even-par or better rounds and seven top-20 finishes. His lowest round came at Cochran Collegiate where he shot a 67 during an individual win in April.
Healy has posted six top-20 finishes across nine events this year. He was twice awarded College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Golfer of the Week after achieving two top-three finishes in fall tournaments. His career-low for a three-round total is six-under-par (210), achieved at Wabash College Invitational last October.
Castro holds a scoring average of 71.8 through twenty-seven rounds this season. In five spring tournaments, he has not finished lower than third place, including wins at both the CCIW Championship in early May and IWU Invite in April. Castro currently ranks tenth nationally among Division III players.
The team will compete at Mission Inn Resort + Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida from May 12–15 for the national championship tournament.
