The University of Illinois announced on May 8 that its football team will play two Friday night games as part of the FOX College Football Friday package. The matchups include a home game against Nebraska on Nov. 6 and an away game at UCLA on Nov. 13.
These schedule changes are part of efforts to increase the program’s visibility, with both games set in primetime slots. Limited season tickets remain available, and university officials expect high demand following recent increases in attendance at Gies Memorial Stadium.
The updated schedule lists the Nebraska game at Gies Memorial Stadium beginning at 7 p.m. Central Time, while the contest against UCLA will take place at the Rose Bowl starting at 8 p.m. Central Time. Other notable games for Illinois this season include home contests against UAB, Duke, Southern Illinois, Purdue (Homecoming), Oregon (Foundation Weekend), and Iowa (Senior Day). Road opponents feature Ohio State, Michigan State, Maryland, UCLA, and Northwestern.
The University of Illinois Fighting Illini men’s football team plays its home games at Memorial Stadium in Champaign and competes in the Big Ten Conference against a range of conference and non-conference teams across multiple states according to the official website. Community outreach activities such as youth camps are also part of their annual calendar.
