The Village of Vernon Hills announced on April 15 that this year’s July 4th celebration will feature an expanded morning parade and evening fireworks show to mark both Independence Day and the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The event is expected to draw significant community participation, with organizers encouraging residents, local groups, and organizations to join in the parade. The Village said entry for the parade is free but requires advance registration through an online Parade Entry Form by Friday, June 26.
According to officials, participants are invited to gather neighbors, work teams, nonprofit organizations or any other group interested in taking part. “Gather your neighbors, work crew, nonprofit organization or any other group that wants to take part and get signed up today!” organizers said.
Further information about the celebration can be found on the July 4th webpage as well as through the Vernon Hills July 4th Parade Entry Form. Details regarding specific activities or additional festivities have not yet been released.
This year’s event aims to build on past celebrations while recognizing a historic milestone in American history.
