The Village of Riverside announced on May 8 that it will hold a Public Safety Open House on Tuesday, May 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 31 Riverside Road. The event will feature a presentation by Williams Architects about preliminary plans for a new Public Safety facility.
The open house is part of the village’s effort to engage residents in the planning process for a proposed referendum to build the new facility. Representatives from Williams Architects will present their initial designs and answer questions from attendees during a Q&A session.
Residents who cannot attend in person will be able to watch the presentation later, as Riverside TV will film and make it available online. Additional opportunities for public input are planned, including online surveys and facility tours. “Resident feedback is very important to this process and integral to the development of the facility, so we encourage as much participation as possible,” organizers said.
The Village of Riverside provides services such as fire suppression, emergency medical care, law enforcement, parks programs, and public library access, according to the official website. The municipality also promotes cultural awareness through its historical commission and public library programs while aiming to deliver municipal services responsibly and maintain its historic character.
Riverside is recognized for its landscape design by Frederick Law Olmsted and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1970 due to its role in national history, according to the official website.
