The Village of Tinley Park announced on May 8 that it has adopted Everbridge as its new community notification system. Residents and businesses are being asked to register at TinleyPark.org/Everbridge to receive alerts about emergencies and other important events.
This change is significant because those who previously used CodeRED, the former emergency notification platform, will need to create a new account with Everbridge in order to continue receiving both emergency and non-emergency notifications. These include the Tinley Park Messenger, which delivers news updates by phone featuring stories from around the village.
Users can choose how they want to get information—by cell phone, SMS text message, home landline, email, or other methods—and can select which types of alerts they wish to receive. The sign-up process involves creating an account online, verifying contact information through a code sent by phone or email, providing personal details such as name and preferred language, and agreeing to the terms of use and privacy policy before finalizing their profile.
Instructions for registration are available at TinleyPark.org/StayInformed. Once registered in the member portal, users confirm their details and set preferences for weather alerts and quiet periods when they do not want to be disturbed. Emergency Alerts are mandatory for all users but other alert types can be customized according to individual needs.
The transition aims to ensure that residents remain informed during critical situations while allowing them flexibility in how they receive communications from local authorities.
