The Wheaton Planning and Zoning Board will hold a public hearing on June 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Wheaton City Hall to consider a zoning application requesting an amendment to an existing Planned Unit Development. The meeting will take place both in person at 303 West Wesley Street, Wheaton, Illinois, and via Zoom.

The application under consideration is Zoning Application #26-16, submitted by the Wheaton Sport Center located at 1000 W. Prairie Avenue. The request seeks to amend the most recently modified Planned Unit Development—last changed by City Ordinance No. O-2022-42—to allow eight outdoor tennis courts to be covered by an air-supported structure between May 15 and September 15 each year. This change would permit the existing air-supported structure to remain up year-round on property zoned as O-R Office Research District.

The subject property is legally described as Lot 1 in Wheaton Sports Center Plat of Consolidation in the South half of Section 8, Township 39 North, Range 10 East of the Third Principal Meridian according to the plat recorded April 25, 1990 as Document R90-49415 in DuPage County, Illinois (P.I.N.: 05-08-306-049).

Members of the public who wish to make statements are encouraged to do so during the hearing. Written comments may also be submitted prior to or at the meeting. A copy of the application is available for review during normal business hours at the office of the Director of Planning and Economic Development located at City Hall.

Nicole Aranas, Chair of the Wheaton Planning and Zoning Board, will preside over proceedings.
