Willkie Farr & Gallagher announced on May 18 that it represented 32 Flavors and its founder and CEO Alex Baskin in the sale of a majority interest in the company to Sony Pictures Television.

The transaction is significant as it involves one of the newer production companies in the entertainment industry, with 32 Flavors having been founded in 2023 by Baskin. The company operates a broad-based content business that includes premium unscripted programming such as documentaries, true crime series, podcasts, talk shows, and scripted development.

According to Willkie Farr & Gallagher, “Willkie represented 32 Flavors and its founder and CEO Alex Baskin in connection with Sony Pictures Television’s acquisition of a majority interest in the company.”

The portfolio of 32 Flavors includes several well-known titles such as the Emmy-nominated Vanderpump Rules, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The Real Housewives of Orange County, The Valley, and the Netflix podcast Shut Up Evan.

The legal team from Willkie was led by partners Steve Hurdle and Tilda Shin. Associates Amirali Agha-Khan and Brooke Diulio were also involved in advising on this transaction.

This acquisition highlights ongoing consolidation within the entertainment sector as major studios seek to expand their content offerings through partnerships with independent production companies.
